WAVE MEETING
Water Awareness
for the Vanderburgh Environment
WAVE met April 6, 2005, 3:00 p.m., at the 4-H Center. Brenda Jeffers, Bill Jeffers, Fred Padget, Pam Pelaski, Bonnie Bittner, Blair Borries, Mike Wathen, and Gena Garrett were present.
A motion by Fred Padget and a second by Bill Jeffers approved the minutes of the February 3, 2005 meeting.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Constitution and Bylaws. Dave Elgin emailed Brenda Jeffers and put the signing of the constitution and bylaws on hold. Dave stated that WAVE is under the umbrella of Four Rivers.
Earth Day, April 22, Howell Wetlands. It was decided that
some WAVE members should attend between 9:30 am and 1:00pm. The Mayor will
plant a bald cypress tree at 9:45am.
Grants. Blair Borries mention a grant on the web for $10,000 to $50,000 that may be of interest to WAVE. Blair also stated that he and Amy were giving a grant for water monitoring and discussed different location to monitor.
Water Display. The group discussed the design for a water awareness display. Mike Wathen suggested a flushable commode display. Mike will be checking out a design for the display. The group worked on a trifold display board. The topic is “Where Does Our Water Come From? Where Does Our Water Go?” The display board will be worked on at the next meeting.
